My apologies. It's been a while. 

I've been busy with work, family, and getting my life back on track. 

And drinking coffee. Lots of coffee.

Coffee... mmmmm

I recently went 36 hours without coffee. I managed to sleep properly, nap in the afternoon and generally was a happier chap. When I was awake, that is.

And I got a stinking headache. Which, after my last post about smoking, makes me think that I'm a bit of an addict!

My Brain Beat Me

We came back from a long day out – starting at 0630 departing our house and returning at 1500. With our 9 month old baby boy.

The day included: anesthesia, back to front hospital gowns, participation in a national chemical attack exercise, bumping into 4 friends (what are the odds??). Baby vomiting once. Wife vomiting twice.

Anyway, we arrived home healthy but very tired. Wife went to bed. Baby fell asleep and I decided to watch some TV. I found an old CSI Las Vegas which I still think is a classic. I watched the first minute and then cued it up on the Tivo and made myself a coffee.

But my brain beat me. I wasn’t even thinking about who did it because I didn’t care. And then it hit me. I remembered.

The dentist did it.

Oh bugger. Now I have to watch something else.

Don’t you just hate it when your brain beats you?

Bleary eyed

Its quite early here and I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

Cute Kea

Whilst you were having your first cup of coffee this morning I was busy volunteering at my local zoo, in the Australasian House.

The cutest animals are the infant Kea (and yes, that's the plural and singular!). And whats cuter than a baby Kea nibbling at your shoelace?

They're in my pants

Whilst making a bottle for His Highness the Baby I noticed a few mini-ants running around the surface. It was 3 am so I didn't want to pay much attention to them.

At 8 am when I made Her Holiness's coffee I noticed them again, this time around the sugar bowl.

Normally I'd just call the exterminator and have them chemically removed but we're moving house in less than a month and I don't want to spend the money.

So my question to you, dear reader, is;

Short of hiring an anteater from the local menagerie, do you have any cheap and easy ways to abate the flow of ants into an apartment?
