Acquiring a Pair of Brown Trousers
Just outside of Hurricane City, Utah, the driver of the truck you see in the lower left lost control of his vehicle. The pick-up was traveling at roughly 75 miles an hour when it broke through the guardrail in the upper right (if you look closely, it's where the group of people are standing), flipping end over end, bouncing off and across the culvert outlet you see in the center of the photo.
The truck ended up on the left side of the culvert, facing the opposite direction from which it had been traveling originally.
The driver and his passenger were unhurt except for minor cuts and bruises.
All of this would be astounding in and of itself, because damn, son, you flipped your truck OVER a fucking culvert and around backwards and lived to tell the tale! Except when you pan out.....
This was back in 2006, but as it's the first time I have come across it, I thought I'd share.

The Santa Clarita Diet
Great news! Timothy Olyphant is back on our screens. He of stardom from one of the greatest TV shows of the decade, Justified. He is starring with an actress new to our screens, a certain Drew Blyth Barrymore. I believe she has had a part to play in certain films such as E.T. and 50 First Dates.
The background story is 'Mom is now addicted to human flesh'. A simple enough story as seen in their new TV show 'The Santa Clarita Diet'.
Finally a TV show I can watch with the wife!
Let me know if you enjoy it too.

I'm Only Human After All
My socks have well and truly been blown off.
Driving to work one day i heard this song and really liked it. Throughout the day I kept singing the chorus and realised that I wanted to know more about it. So, OK Google to the rescue!
'OK Google' I said, 'i'm only human after all, put the blame on me'. Within seconds the YouTube video of the song came onto my phone. I pushed the big triangle and had the song blaring through my speakers in seconds. Awesome.
That wasn't what blew my socks off, that just impressed me greatly.
The song was sung with such confidence and such simplicity as well as gentleness, that I had assumed, and that is where the mistake began, that it was a famous American soul singer who I just hadn't heard before. The video above proved me very, very wrong.
Then I researched Rag'n'Bone man a bit more and was utterly floored by the power and subtlety in some of his songs:
Definitely an artiste who i will be following closely!

How President Trump Won The Election
Jumblerant's Rules of Politics:
1. All politicians are lying scumbags
2. All politicians are arrogant, narcissistic windbags
3. All politicians are money grabbing fools
There, got that out of the way. Having said all of that, there is a lot to be learnt by Mrs Clinton's failure to get elected. Back on March 11th 2016, a long post was put up on Imgur about how Mr Trump had already won the election by using Tsun Tsu's tactics from his book The Art of War.
Here is the post:
Two weeks ago I hit the front page with a neutral explanation on how Donald Trump is actually a master tactician by using 'The Art of War'.
Well... Trump may have just pulled off his biggest political maneuver yet! We're going full-blown conspiracy now, so hold onto your butts!!
*Full Disclaimer: What you will see below may or may not be true. I'm only illustrating Trump's potential master craft, nothing else.*
Trump's first speech purposefully called out Mexicans as criminals, drug dealers, and rapists. This lead him to being mocked by the GOP as a "joke candidate". Trump baited his opponents by doubling down and making Trump's wall the number one issue of the primary election. His stance on illegal immigration forced all other GOP candidates to start one step back, and for Trump to set the pace moving forward.
Trump continued to hold out baits throughout his campaign (Mexico will pay for the wall, will he/won't he run independent, blood coming out of "wherever", barring Muslims, Hillary getting schlonged, and now "Islam hates us") to feign disorder.
He then double downs every time, saying things like "No border, no country", "The wall will be 10 feet higher", or "bringing in Muslims brings in terrorists".
Notice how fast each of Trump's "wacko" statements are superseded by another? That's because each time Trump is attacked, his core voters feel attacked. The more his opponents attack him, the more flabergasted they become in seeing nothing stick.
Trump wants to be attacked because he already set his opponents up in a position of weakness right out of the opening gate. His opponents are just playing catch-up, which continually puts them further behind and perceived as "low energy".
Trump knows who he is, and of the five remaining opponents, none of them know Trump. You can see it in what they say about Trump. They liken him to being mentally unstable, a bigot, a racist, a buffoon, or even Hitler. Trump is none of these, and to say he is demonstrates how they've already lost.
His opponents have yet to take Trump seriously. Even today Ted Cruz said that Trump's voters are "uninformed". Mitt Romney last week called Trump's supporters "played for suckers". No one has yet to figure Trump out, not because he's too crazy, but because he's too clever. You can't just laugh him off.
Trump has been planning this since at least the late 1980s. All he had to do was bide his time and wait for the right political climate. Not even the political party he ran for mattered, that's why he's running as a Republican since it's the easiest path to victory. He has no allegiance to either party, which only serves to benefit his message.
Trump's greatest strength is in dismantling his opponents. Jeb Bush's fall from grace was a master stroke by Trump. Trump has long since dismantled his #1 rival through a continuous barrage of perfect pin prick attacks.
You may have missed it, but it was one of the greatest American political maneuverings of all-time.
Trump is no fool. Everyone says "Trump has no plans, no platform", but everything he has said has been by design. Everything from here on out will be by design.
Yesterday Hillary said: "If I'm running against Trump there's plenty of time to come up with a plan before the general election". You cannot plan against Trump. Neither Hillary nor Bernie will have a plan.
There is no political strategy to beat him. The only way Trump loses is by you the people creating a movement of voters, one that can beat Trump's ever rapidly insurmountable fan base.
At the current rate Trump will be President, because he already has a 30 year head start.
EDIT: The protests tonight only serve to feed the Trump Train. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi:
"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."
Welcome to stage 3 folks.

I Like Clever TV Shows
As you are no doubt aware, I write a lot about TV shows.
I like TV.
I like clever TV shows. There are some amazing shows out there; Preacher, Luke Cage, Game of Thrones, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and of course, Last Week with John Oliver.
Recently there have been a quite a few heinously bad shows - Fuller House, Flaked, Frequency,
There are also some shows that I'm unsure of;
1. This Is Us - Wow, just wow. Watch it. Seriously good acting. Great plot. Just amazing. But its only been one episode so lets see where it goes.
2. Roadies. Interesting story line. Fun filled cast with, yet again, interesting twists and turns.
3. HIM - completely unusual tv show from the UK. A teenager with special powers comes to terms with it.
4. Lucifer. Some amazing acting, good storylines and wholly interesting. But then it has it's own cliches too.
5. American Housewife. I was very excited to watch this show, but as someone stated:
“Mike & Molly’s” Katy Mixon gets her own sitcom. Too bad it’s not funny." [ooh burn!]

Formula 1 is Awesome, But Needs To Keep Up-To-Date
Formula 1 is an amazing sport. Athletes at the peak of their fitness are riding around in a car at, what Wikipedia states, can be up to 369.9 km/h.
On low-downforce circuits greater top speeds were registered: at Gilles-Villeneuve (Canada) 325 km/h (203 mph), at Indianapolis (USA) 335 km/h (210 mph), and at Monza (Italy) 360 km/h (225 mph).
In the Italian Grand Prix 2004, AntĂ´nio Pizzonia of the BMW WilliamsF1 team recorded a top speed of 369.9 km/h (229.8 mph).
I would love to be able to show you an awesome video of a car flying off into the distance with the pitch of the engine screaming but this is where the problem lies: F1 Formula One, the company that owns all official video footage of the races has not really been switched on about sharing anything on social media.
There are some amazing journalists out there who still get the word out. Joe Seward has an amazing blog that has the nuance and flavour of the F1 Paddock.
Ted Kravitz (@tedkravitz ) is a great Formula 1 reporter and sadly doesn't get his information out enough!
So here is what I'm talking about:
Why aren't there more videos? Because YouTube doesn't have any. Why not? Because F1 Formula One the company haven't put any out there! Silly buggers.

Jack Reacher Returns
I'm no Mr. Thomas Cruise fan. Yes, he was good in Taps, Risky Business, Top Gun, Rain Man, Cocktail, Days of Thunder, A Few Good Men, Mission: Impossible, Jerry Maguire, The Last Samurai, MI2, MI 3, Tropic Thunder and of course, Born on the 4th of July.
But apart from that he hasn't done anything good.
Oh, and the original Jack Reacher movie.
So here he is again, in another Jack Reacher movie. I have read all of Lee Child's Reacher books and truth be told, I just want to say 'move on, this has nothing to do with you' but he would never listen.
However, Mr Cruise has managed to bring a new dimension to the character which I can really respect. Well done sir!

Gilmore Girls is Coming Back!
I don't gush.
I don't feel that there wasn't a good ending to any show. Except Firefly (they was robbed).
Gilmore Girls had its day. it had a good few seasons and then went on it's way.
My wife has been binging on the original series again and what struck me mainly was just how bad a mother and role model Lauren Graham's character was. Really, really bad.
Netflix has picked up the show, as they did with the amazing Longmire, and they have gotten everyone back.
The trailer for the new 4-part series 'Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life' is pretty damn amazing!
It picks up 9 years after the youngest Lorelai moves on from Yale. That trailer though, pretty darn amazing.
Enjoy.

5 1/2 TV Shows To Watch
Hi, my name is Jumblerant and I am an addict. I need my TV. I can live without it, I just prefer to indulge on a daily basis.
The talk of the town recently has been Netflix's Stranger Things. An interesting show that combines X-files, Poltergeist and basically became a Science Fiction, Supernatural fiction, Horror fiction, Mystery, set in the '80s.
A few of the shows I've been watching that have gone under the radar are somewhat less dramatic, but just as much fun;
1. Lucifer. Lucy is a simple chap, just likes to have fun and doesn't like ot commit. Except for the fact that he used to run Hell itself, he could be any nightclub owner in LA. Oh, and he's an angel.
Surprisingly funny, this show doesn't lean on the interaction between the female and male leads in a way that Castle (of blessed memory) did.
2. One Mississippi is a dark, dark humour vehicle for Tig Notaro. Definitely worth watching, if only for the amazing acting going on around her character, especially by John Rothman and Noah Harpster.
3. Killjoys is into it's 3rd season and is still a joy to watch. An action-adventure sci-fi drama set in a different galaxy, we follow what is basically a trio of sheriffs bringing justice to the lawless "Quad". There are some very interesting twists and turns that put this show apart from the run of the mill good guy v bad guy show.
4. President Graves is a retired politician who suddenly realises that his legacy is a worsened country, so he is going out there to make some more changes. Interesting, if fanciful, view of a politician who finally receives a soul. As if!
5. Ever wondered how a band tours? No? Me neither. However, Roadies shows us an interesting story behind the scenes of the Straton House Band. Sex, drugs, rock and roll for sure, but also friendship, romance, comedy and also some pretty awesome music.
Overall, there are still some awesome, original and interesting tv shows out there. Go have a look!

Frank Bennet Reisman, 9/11 Victim
It is now 16 years since the attacks of World Trade Center I and II, The Pentagon, Shanksville, American Airlines Flights 11 & 77, and United Airlines Flight 93 & 175.
On that day 2,996 people were ripped from their lives. But as the media and society tend to do, they have focused on the killers. We’ve all learned more about them than we wanted to. On that day many of us made a pledge to never forget what happened.
Some of us bloggers are trying to keep that promise by learning about the people who died that day.
When Frank Reisman was single, mountain climbing was his passion. The summer after the end of college, he hiked the Appalachian Trail alone from Maine to Pennsylvania, picking up dry food that his parents, George and Evie, mailed to him at post offices along the way.
After Mr. Reisman married, family was his focus. Every evening around 6:15 he returned home, where his wife, Gayle, and their two children, Kasey and Dillon, always waited for him to have dinner.
Living in Princeton, N.J., and working at Cantor Fitzgerald on the equities desk, Mr. Reisman, 41, was the perfect suburban daddy, his wife said. He coached Kasey's softball team and took Dillon to golf on the weekends. He taught them how to download music from the Internet and ferret out useful information. Because he left home before the children got up for school, he always sent them online messages from work.
On the morning of the attack, he phoned his wife, who happened to be out jogging. He reached his mom. "He said: `I'll be fine. Don't panic, Mom. I love you,' " Evie Reisman said, as tears welled up in her eyes
REISMAN-Frank Bennett, 41, cruelly and tragically taken from his dearly loved and loving family and friends in the terrorist attack September 11 on the World Trade Center. After Mr. Reisman married, family was his focus. Frank is survived and will be sorely missed by his cherished wife, Gayle, his darling children, Kasey 11 and Dillon 9, and by his loving parents, Evie and George.
Wherever he went he made friends; with his kindness, sweet nature, sense of humor, intellectual quickness, and sincere interest in people he was the exemplar of the term ''GreatGuy''.
Frank attended The Elisabeth Morrow School, he graduated in '77 from Dwight-Englewood School and earned a B.A. at Skidmore College in the Class of 1981. Following college and a ''tune-up'' of winter mountaineering in the Adirondacks High Peaks he hiked the Northern section of the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Pennsylvania and then joined his family's manufacturing company, Natalie Lamp & Shade Corp. Afterwards, he was an equities trader with Franklin Resources and for the last 5 years has been at Cantor Fitzgerald's trading desk on the 104th floor of the WTC.

On Being An Old Git
I was just thinking the other day, how pathetic things are that so many 'new ideas' are just rehashing old ones.
Some have worked (Sherlock, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek) and some have failed miserably (Dukes of Hazzard, Ghostbusters) and others are still awaiting the court's decision:
Fuller House
X-Files ( just 6 episodes ordered by Fox)
Coach
Twin peaks
XENA!!!
Gilmore Girls
And then, when I thought it couldn't get any worse, there is this;

On the bright side, my 4 year old is thoroughly enjoying the original Full House that she can watch on Netflix.

We're Not Going To Take It
Dee Snider has released a video showing him performing a stripped back, piano-led version of Twisted Sister classic "We're Not Gonna Take It".
Directed by musician and illusionist Criss Angel in a desert outside Las Vegas, the promo was produced to help raise awareness of Angel's new cancer charity, HELP (Heal Every Life Possible). It was founded in honor of his two-year-old son, who is in remission from leukaemia.

Game of Thrones, Jon Snow (WARNING SPOILERS)
Jon Snow is The King in the North.
He is also a particularly bad leader when it comes to battle, being saved repeatedly by others' actions.
Headstrong, arrogant and a bit of a bastard, we still love the character - and here is why;
It must be said that his brothers did murder him, but just the once. Game of Thrones, even though it is in its 7th season, really is getting stronger and stronger.
Here are some theories about Game of Thrones:

Summer Viewing
Summer has officially begun and there are some pretty awesome looking new tv shows coming along:
Joey Tribbiani finally breaks the mould he fell into on Friends and is finally playing a dad. With a family. And he gets to stay at home with them. The trailer is 4 minutes long, which is probably as long as each episode is going to be given the amount of adverts that'll be shown:
Training Day looks interesting, unbelievable, but interesting. A rogue detective (oooh) will take a rookie partner (aaah).
The Great Indoors is a comedy. Probably.
Basically a guy comes in from the wild where he has been doing whatever a chap does in the wild for months on end, but hey, he doesn't know what one is allowed to say in a multi-ethical social situation. Ensuing hilarity occurs. Why would i bother watching it? Stephen Fry, the glorious man himself, is in it.
Pure Genius - a young Silicon Valley gazillionaire builds a hi-tech hospital, staffs it with geniuses and then rolls the dice with people's lives. It appears to be all about him and one of the doctors he recruits, but with no love interest, complicity or real moral boundaries to be pushed, I don't see what this is really about, or why we should care.
Not wanting to appear to be too much of a bitter, twisted old chap, I am happy to share that Mister Thomas Cruise brings us a new Reacher movie, and it looks fricking awesome!!
Oooh, I nearly forgot - this little movie trailer actually had me laughing out loud:
Enjoy! And let me know what you watched, in the comments...

Justified. Just Awesome
My favourite show of 2015 was Justified. As a amatuer writer I was unable to say what it was exactly about it that was so amazing, but I stumbled across this overview today and thought they hit the nail on the head:
Possibly the best "Cop" show in the last decade. It's actually dangerous watching this because it'll make you believe you'd look good in a stetson. Olyphant and Walton Goggins are beyond amazing. Hell, the whole cast is. The show is effortlessly cool, badass, funny and just all round f***ing fantastic. It also has possibly the best ever series finale.
Network: FX, Netflix (UK)

Magnificent Seven Remake Looking Good
I'm a big cowboy fan. I love a good shootout (on TV) and the music and scenery tend to be pretty epic. Its why my favourite tv shows are Longmire and Justified, my favourite films Unforgiven and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
When I heard that they were going to remake a classic, I thought it would be a major fail. Like Ghostbusters, the reboot of which received the most dislikes on YouTube of any trailer. Ever.
It received 0ver 656,000 dislikes or thumbs down, in a few hours after release. They were ridiculed for racism, sexism, misogyny and generally being marketing fools.
And then I heard that his amazingness the Chris Pratt was going to be in it, and The Magnificent Seven looked truly Splendiferous:
Here are the original team for the Magnificent Seven:
Yul Brynner
Eli Wallach
Steve McQueen
Charles Bronson
Robert Vaughn
James Coburn
Brad Dexter
Here is a reminder of the original film:
Oh, and here is the trailer for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
Enjoy - I sure did.

A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away...
The latest Star Wars film has come and gone. As far as I am concerned, it was just a poor revamp of previous episodes; someone lost in the desert, an orphan with no friends, an alien bar and a resulting fight, a death star. Nothing new there then, heck, the X-wings weren't even updated!
The three components of the opening sequence: the phrase "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....", the Star Wars logo and the opening crawl, from the beginning of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
But what if they changed the opening to be more like a Bond film? Would it lose it's cachet?
The video below is an awesome interpretation of what that may have looked like if they had done it for The Empire Strikes Back.

Try And Beat That James
I was originally going to write solely about an amazing singer, Haley Reinhart, who has made many appearances on YouTube on a channel called Postmodern Jukebox.
She is pretty awesome, and with 10s of millions of views, I'm not the only to think so:
And then my favourite late night show host, James Corden had an EPIC Carpool Karaoke.
Enjoy them all!!
